So then guys, can you believe it? We're around about two months away from a brand new iPhone releasing, a brand new model, and that is going to be the iPhone 17 Air.
And a lot of you guys have been asking the question, what is the thickness like of the iPhone 17 Air to the last thinnest iPhone we ever had? And believe it or not, the last thinnest iPhone we ever had is the iPhone 6. This was the last thinnest iPhone Apple ever made.
And you guys want to know what the difference is compared to the iPhone 17 Air. We were told originally when this iPhone 6 came out, it was 6.9 millimeters thick. And obviously we're going to get 5.5 millimeters in this new releasing iPhone 17 Air.
3 New Leaks Of The iPhone 17 Air Revealed
But moving on from this, I want to tell you guys three big new leaks that we've had in quite recently. Now, one of the things what happened with the iPhone 6, it had something called Bendgate. This was an issue where this phone could easily be bent. And that's why the iPhone 6s came out a little bit thicker and also had reinforced sort of structure inside of it.
So a lot of you guys are even more worried now with the iPhone 17 Air, well this might be even more prone, even easier than to bend an iPhone 6. But I would say this, not to worry, because of this leak that we've had in here for the number one new leak, and that is we've been told that the new iPhone 17 Air is going to be completely made out of titanium. In the past when we had that last iPhone, well actually that one was made out of stainless steel, the iPhone 6. But we're actually going to get this one made out of titanium.
Obviously since then we've had the ability of like aluminum. But what I would be saying is I wouldn't be too worried about the titanium in the iPhone 17 Air, because we've had same titanium in the likes of iPhone 15, and the 16 Pro models as well. And they have been absolutely superb. They are absolutely incredibly strong to actually have such material. And obviously I would say the iPhone 17 Air, that's going to be made out of the same material, completely made out of the frame. I would say we wouldn't have too much to worry about. It's going to be a very, very solid phone. We won't have probably the issues that we had with an iPhone 6. Don't get me wrong. If we really put a stupid amount of pressure on this phone, then obviously, yeah, it probably will bend. But you could say the same thing about an iPhone 16 Pro or 16 Pro Max. If you really put a lot of pressure on it, yes, it will bend. But for general day usage, it probably will not bend. And that is really good news to hear.
Now, the second big leak that we've had in very recently is all to do with wireless charging. Now in the past, we heard that we were going to be getting Qi 2.2 inside of the iPhone 17 Air or the iPhone 17 models. And we were told this was going to be up to 50 watts of sort of wireless charging. But we found out this is actually incorrect. It's actually up to 25 watts. So we now get 25 watts. So third party chargers now can do up to 25 watts, which is going to be really, really good news to hear. Because with the likes of the iPhone 16 Pro and the 16 Pro Max only, could you go up to 25 watts if you use an official MagSafe charger, the new one from Apple, and you plugged it into a 30 watt charger. That was the only way you could do it and it would give you 25 watts charging, MagSafe charging.
But the good news is now that obviously if you buy third party, you don't have to buy an Apple MagSafe accessory. You can buy a third party one. What has Qi 2.2? Well, that is great news because that means now you'll be able to charge up the new iPhone 17 Air with charging speeds of 25 watts. So this is brilliant news to hear.
Then finally, the third new leak we've heard for the iPhone 17 Air is all to do with the colours. And it looks like we finally got the leak here where we want to know what colours we'll be getting with this range. Well, the great news is it does look like we're going to be getting, A space black or space grey. A white kind of colour, silver white kind of colour or also a new kind of gold. It won't be that desert titanium kind of colour. It'll be quite a nice kind of gold. It actually kind of looks like the old school kind of champagne gold we used to get with even the iPhone 6 back in the day. A sky blue colour too, very similar to the likes of the MacBook Air with the M4.
So this is great news to hear that these are going to be the four new colours we are going to be getting with the iPhone 17 Air.
So moving on then, what about the release date and price of the new iPhone 17 Air? Well, we are two months away now from the release of the new iPhone 17 Air. And more than likely that Apple are going to do their Apple event for the iPhones, the likes of the AirPods Pro 3 potentially, and also the Apple Watch Series 11, the Ultra 3, and also a new SE model on week commencing September 8th.
And more than likely the event day is going to be Tuesday the 9th of September, or it's going to be Wednesday September 10th. That is when we're going to most likely have the Apple event, and then just a few days later on September 12th, on the Friday, that is when you'll be able to pre-order the new iPhone 17 Air, but it won't be probably to about a week later after that, to the 19th of September, that is when you'll be able to get your hands on the next generation of the new iPhones. So this is when you'll be able to get them in your hands there. So this is really exciting news to hear that this is when the release time is going to be happening.
But then for the price wise, you guys are probably wondering what's going to happen here. Well, there's been lots of speculation was bouncing around, because obviously the standard iPhone 17 is likely going to stay the same price, that is starting at $799, but the likes of the iPhone 16 Plus that we have right now, that starts at $899.
And obviously after that, $100 more gets you into saying what the iPhone Pro could range from. So yeah, there's a bit of a question here. More than likely it's going to stay around about that kind of price $899 or even $999 for the new iPhone 17 Air model. This is how much the iPhone 17 Air might most likely going to cost when it comes out. So if you do want this new iPhone, that's how many more sort of cents or pennies you're going to have to save up to get your hands on one.
